By the end of 2014, the country had approximately 33MW solar capacity. However, solar photovoltaic market growth in Croatia between 2015 and 2019 was moderate, with only 20.4MW newly installed capacity in this period from eligible producers. How much electricity is produced in Croatia?
According to the Energy Report for 2016, the electricity produced from RES amounted to 46.7% of the gross electricity consumption in Croatia. Out of that, the electricity produced in large hydro power plants amounted to 37.8%, whereas electricity produced from other renewable sources amounted to 8.9%.
When will the renewables Act be implemented in Croatia?
In December 2018 the Croatian Parliament adopted the amendments to the Renewables Act and the Government adopted two implementing regulations, which jointly apply as of 1 January 2019 (“ 2019 Amendments ”).
Will the projects participate in a public support scheme in Croatia?
The promoter stated that the projects will not participate in or benefit from any public support scheme in Croatia. They thereby contribute to the policy objective of supporting the market integration of renewable energy projects.
