To assess Mali’s solar potential, we have considered the solar data for solar resources in Bamako, Kayes, Kolokani, Sikasso, and Barouéli. Considering the total expenses, the LCOE and payback period for two cases (a discount rate of 0% and a discount rate of 6%), standalone PV systems have been found to be economically viable for Mali.
